Rock n Roll Rendezvous- Birdwood Car Show

18/04/10 we made ou way down to birdwood in the hills. I wasn't really sure what to expect when i got there all i knew was there was gonna be awesome cars, rock music and lots of people.

Me and Pat drove up in a metalic green 57' Plymouth Belvedere.. left hand drive.. 2 door.. off the rictor.. this hottie flys!!

So we arrived at the venue, parked the cars.. instantly we had people coming up to all three cars, taking pictures.
One particular man asked us to stand behind the green '57 and have a shot together with the rear plate between us that read 'Drive it like you stole it'..
Little did we know at the time that we would be interviewed for Unique Cars magazine.. It was awesome :)

We came across alot of interesting people along the course of the day..

So stay tuned for more picz of the cars, bands and dancing that we were lucky enough to experience on that lovely sunday afternoon :)

DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME: A Year In The Life Of Dave Navarro

"Step into the booth.
Check your judgments at the curtain.
Close your eyes.
Listen: You can hear the voices of the visitors who sat here before you: Some of the most twisted, drug-addled, deviant, lonely, lost, brilliant characters ever to be caught on film. WHAT DO HAVE TO OFFER THE BOOTH??"

Don't try this at home: A year in the life of Dave Navarro is one of the best books I've ever read.

It's not for the faint hearted but if you've got the balls then open the cover and prepare yourself to be blown away.

THE ANGUS ADVENTURE..

It was busy day at work. I was moping around all day coz i knew that AC/DC was playing in concert that night and i was spewwwingg that i wasn't gonna be there..

So 6pm comes and i'm walking out of work in the worst mood, watching all these fans walking past in their Back In Black tshirts which made me feel even worse. Next thing you know, my phone rings.. It's Ivana..

I answer in a real shitty tone of voice:
Me: "Hello"

Ivana: "I can line up 2 tickets to AC/DC, you in??!!"

Me: "Fuck yeah, I'm in!!"

Ivana: " Okay, meet me there in half an hour.."

So i guess your wondering how she lined these tickets up right? So she's on facebook and sets her status as 'i wish i was going to the AC/DC concert' not expecting any reply.. 5 mins later some girl writes back saying if she comes to the venue in 30 mins there will be 2 tickets waiting for her..

At this point i was about to fricken die of excitement so i start heading down to the venue to meet my friend.

After about 20 mins i've met up with ivana and we go to meet this girl with the tickets at the front of the gates.. she standing there with some huge biker looking dude and we pay for the tickets and make our way to what we thought was the entrance only to find out after 15 minutes of waiting at the end of a cue of about 40,000 people that we were in the wrong line..

So we ditch that cue and walk around the corner only to find another cue which was alot smaller than the last and somehow get close to the front of the cue..

We're in!

There are people everywhere.. thousands.. i didn't think this city had so many people.

We head to the mosh pit stopping at the merchandise stall along the way.. we bought some off the rictor Hell's Bell's singlets..

So we get to the pit and we're stopped by security who tell us we can't go in without an armband, they direct us back to the front.

Back at the front gates we find the lady with the arm bands who at this stage is BOMBARDED with people who like us, wanna go in the pit.

She looks over at us "You got the right ticket, luv?"
We just nod and she chucks us 2 arm bands for the pit.. i was extatic :)

By this time we were that fucken excited that we bolted back to the entrance of the pit and the security guards were gob smacked that we were back so quick.

Now was the hard part.. Getting to the front.. of 50,000 people.. and not very nice people either.

So we start our mission to get in front of all these people.. teenagers, grannies, bikers, families etc. etc. and we were going pretty well until we came across a group of fans who refused to move.. they sort of barricaded us in a way..And out of all that group there was one couple who really stood out.
As we found a little spot to creep through, the girlfriend puts her arm around her boyfriend "Don't worry sweetheart, if they try and push in i'll smash em" she says.
So we cut across a few more people and get about a row in front of the couple, turn around and stick our fingers up at them.. NO ONE was stopping us from getting to the front, thats for fucken sure.

Finally, we get 2 people (in single file) away from the barricade.. we turn around and see 50,000 people behind us.. we had successfully weaseled our way through.

And the rest is history.. all i can say is it was one of the best nights of my life.

P.S: Angus Young you rock my world :)
